Ester is a hardened girl with a somewhat witty and bossy, brash behavior due to the fact that she grew up in a very male dominated family. She’s temperamental and outspoken, often using quite the vulgar language to express how she feels. But despite that she’s has a very caring and thoughtful side and can’t help but be a little motherly and protective due to her upbringing… She might be grouch, but if you beg her to repair your shirt or cook you a meal she’ll do it (even if she’ll complain a lot when doing it xDD)
Ester is a very confident girl and is very stubborn. She loves a good challenge and despite her short temper she can keep her head calm in heated situations which serves her well in her occupation (As long as someone doesn't mock her that is…). ▫ Biography:
Ester was born and raised in a small polish town to a pair of Jewish tailors. Her father was a former assassin that retired to live with his family after serving in the first world war and Ester was the oldest child and the only daughter in the family. When Ester was ten years old her mother abandoned the family for another man, forcing Esters father to get an extra job in order to support the family and leaving Ester to take care of the house, cooking, cleaning and raising her four younger brothers.
With the brewing conflict that spread through the continent her father reluctantly taught her how to use a gun and some very basic hand-to-hand combat so she, as the oldest, could help defending the family if something happened while he was away. He told her about the creed and tried to educate her on the subject, but this was something that Ester just considered a waste of time and didn’t put much effort into. She was more focused on her medical studies and in time came to realize that she wanted to become a nurse. As she got older she decided to pursue her dream and moved to Warsaw to study. She studied medicine and eventually became a nurse, but begrudgingly moved back home again on her father’s insistence.
Esters started to work in a small clinic, but the town was eventually attacked and Ester’s father was among the first to fall when he tried protect his family. His effort was sadly in vain and the family, along with the rest of the town’s Jewish population, was caught and set on a train to a concentration camp. It might have been luck or maybe even faith, but the train was forced to stop before it reached its destination and the prisoners in Ester’s cart took the opportunity to escape. Ester desperately tried to break out her brothers whom were caught in another cart, but her aunt grabbed her by the arm and dragged her away before she managed to.
They ran for what seemed to be hours, but eventually managed to escape their hunters. The small group of survivors went into hiding, setting up a small camp, but only days later a group of Jewish Partisans found them. At first Ester, thinking they where German soldiers sent to retrieve them, tried to fight them off (even hitting one of them, Josef, across the head with a wrench). When she realized who they where it didn't take long for her to join their cause, hoping that her skills would come to use. Around the same time she remembered her father’s words about the creed and with the help of some fellow partisans she was initiated into the Brotherhood. ▫ Equipment:
An old (near unusable) sniper rifle, a pair of binoculars. Nursing bag with simple medical equipment. Curiosities:
-While Ester is a nurse she is a pretty eloquent close-combat fighter due to her upbringing and her wild brothers. She’s nowhere as good as the seasoned soldiers though but wishes to get better both in close combat and with a sniper rifle. She’s brand new to both the military and the order and trains in secret, hoping that she’ll get better soon enough
-The fact that Ester doesn’t know if her brothers are alive or dead takes a great toll on her and she absolutely refuses to mention them or her stress. She blames herself for not being able to save them and prays that she’ll be able to do something before it’s too late.
- She’s extremely lightweight when it comes to liquor…
- The binoculars she carries belonged to her father and they’re her treasure
